First week of July....

Rain Rain and busy busy!

It's been raining all week here and we have been working outside every time it stops! Crazy Kentucky weather....

I've been working on some specialty soaps for the Kentucky Pride week. I have some wildcat paws with claws! When I get them set into the Blue part of the soap I will post pics. It may be a while. Each one takes time to carve and inset the pads and claws.

Did some new "Strawberry Delight" soaps that turned out nearly see through! Very pretty soaps. Pictures coming soon. Finished up some plain brown vanilla soaps and I have been holding off making more until I sell some. I have 10 soaps just waiting to be born! Keeping a list of coming attractions keeps me from forgetting when I come up with an idea! ;)

Oh and I did some child size bars of what I call "Soap Crayons" I will post pictures of them soon too. Made with some very precious oils for their precious skin but with lots of color so they can have some blue green bubbles and draw in the tub! My grand children will have fun with these little soaps! Their mom may shoot me....ha ha!

Presently I had to redo my hard drive on my big computer-it died. That has been taking up all my time lately. It takes time to reload programs and back up files. As soon as I think I'm done I remember some other program I haven't installed yet!  And my laptop fan is going bad so today I have been making a back up of it onto another drive, I can't afford to lost what is on that computer!

Oh and I finally bit the bullet and put up a website-mjrsoaps.com Yay!

So I will be posting more soaps and other fun items in the very near future! God bless and TTYL!~

Not reaching the soap lovers...

Not much happening in Kentucky right now. I tried going to a Farmer's Market twice. The first time there were very few booths and only about 86 people showed up. I sold about 12 bars of soap and a few hearts. So I heard they had a big turnout 3 weeks back so I tried again. I sold 5 bars. I'm not sure if people just don't care about all natural organic soap or what! Very discouraging. I will be seeking some different venues around the area and see if I can find one that will move this soap!

Etsy has very slow. Just haven't sold much soap through them. Has anyone else had issues like this? How can I reach the right people? These soaps are wonderful for the skin and body, there is so much love that goes in to every batch I make! The smells in my shop are so nice and there is nothing I love more than planning new soaps! My skin looks and feels soft, supple and healthy since I started using my soaps exclusively. I even use them on my hair. Maybe I need to find someone who will help me market my soap?

I'm thinking about opening an Ebay store...more on that later. :)
